Developed design specifications to provide a new two-way radio network to support voice, mobile data, AVL and video transport for DART's revenue and non-revenue vehicles. This newly designed system will incorporate state-of-the-art two-way radio technology utilizing digital techniques and packet communications protocol that will service DART's bus, light rail, paratransit, police, maintenance, fare collection and other operations. This newly designed system will service some 2000 mobile users covering DART's 12 member cities for the next 10 to 15 years.
Our specific design SOW included the following tasks:
Providing turnkey two-way radio service in support of Veolia's new paratransit outsourcing contract. Specifically, JBJ Technology provided designs, installation, operations and maintenance for this new radio system. The system services over 251 mobile users in DART's 12 member cities for the next 6 years.
Design and implementation included the use of Kenwood mobile and portable radios as well as the roll out of ten (10) new dispatch positions utilizing Ken Call dispatch software hosted on new Dell computers.
