JBJ Technology was engaged to conduct a technology assessment sanctioned by the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) from March 2008 through May 2008. The intent of this assessment was to evaluate the existing two-way radio system for the standpoint of its stability, growth, capability or expandability, sustainability or maintainability to support NTTA's needs for the next 10 to 15 years. Additionally, if the existing system was found to be deficient in any of the above areas, the assessment scope called for JBJ Technology to recommend multiple solutions that would meet NTTA radio needs.
Specific to this scope of work JBJ Technology was required to research and create documentation on NTTA's existing two-way radio system. This task included the development of a detailed technical system description along with system configuration drawings for both the radio system and interconnect fiber system.
During the process opf developing this documentation JBJ Technology discovered that the existing system was limited in its ability support NTTA's growth. As a result of this initial system evaluation JBJ Technology has evaluated and recommended other two-way radio system options, all of which fully support NTTA's planned growth over the next 10 to 15 years.
JBJ Technology delivered a final report which included options to expand the current system, build an entirely new system and leased time on existing systems.
